On November 7th, 2013, join a powerful group of nonprofit leaders, social entrepreneurs, Lean experts, philanthropists, community organizers and innovators for the inaugural Lean Impact NYC Pitch Event. We’re inviting all nonprofits and social entrepreneurs to tell us how they’ve used lean principles to fulfill their mission. You can apply here to pitch. Participants will be pitching for 5 minutes each in front of 300 people and 20 incredible judges. And there’s no better way to understand how to use lean for social good than from 20 amazing organizations who are putting theory into practice at the NYC Lean Impact Pitch Event!
- Connects leaders of social impact organizations (with a vested interest in innovation) with implementers of Lean principles from both the private and nonprofit sectors
- Is a learning community that allows us to take a deeper look at the way we operate and why. It’s a place where we challenge ourselves and each other to do better.
- Highlights organizations creating greater impact through the Lean Startup Methodology
- Serves as a platform to ask (and answer) the big questions around funding structures and sustainability of the social good sector. For example, how do grant cycles and foundation funding affect our ability to innovate, pivot and accelerate?
All participants bring something unique to the work of progressive social change. Whether you’re an Executive Director, Community Organizer or Tech Entrepreneur, if you’re there because you care about making the world a better place, you have something valuable to offer. Our goal is to create a learning community where many different sectors can learn from one another and vice versa. Our vision is that these connections lead to cross-sector collaboration and sharing of ideas. We want to bridge the tech and social sectors. To that end, the Lean Impact NYC 2013 Pitch Event will have a diverse set of applicants and judges from a variety of fields.
